Frequently asked questions
How is the risk score calculated?
Each new token starts at 100 and loses points for warning signs in its trading activity. The result is grouped as LOW (70–100), CAUTION (40–69) or HIGH (below 40).
- Heavy selling (at least 20 trades): −25 if 65% or more of trades are sells, −10 if 55% or more.
- Price drop over the last hour: −40 at −90% or worse, −30 at −70%, −15 at −40%.
- Few wallets making most trades (30+ trades averaging 6 or more trades per wallet): −15. This can be a sign of wash trading.
- Few buyers: −10 if fewer than 10 buyers after 30 minutes.
- Very low liquidity (under $500): −15.
Tokens with fewer than 10 trades are shown as NEW and are not scored yet. The score only looks at trading activity: it cannot see the code of the token, who holds it or what the developer plans to do. A LOW score does not mean a token is safe.
What counts as a whale?
- Futures whales: a market (taker) order of at least $500,000 on Hyperliquid. One large order is often filled in many pieces; we add up fills from the same wallet in the same block.
- Whale transfers: a Bitcoin transaction moving at least 100 BTC to other addresses. Change sent back to the sender's own addresses is not counted.
Does a "MARKET BUY" mean the wallet went long?
Not necessarily. A market buy can open or increase a long position, or close a short. "Wallet position now" shows the wallet's position when we looked it up, a few seconds after the order, not at the moment of the order.
Why do most transfers say "unknown wallet"?
Bitcoin addresses do not carry names. We only show a name such as an exchange when we have a label we trust; a wrong label would be worse than none. Most addresses are therefore shown as unknown.
What does "pending" mean?
The transaction has been broadcast and seen in the mempool but is not yet in a block. It usually confirms within minutes. Rarely, a pending transaction is replaced or dropped and never confirms.
How fresh is the data?
Futures orders and Bitcoin transfers appear within seconds. Statistics for new Solana tokens refresh every 1–5 minutes in the first hour and less often after that, so prices and scores can lag fast-moving tokens.
How long is history kept?
Futures whale orders and Bitcoin whale transfers are kept as a permanent history; use "Load older" at the bottom of each list. Inactive small tokens are removed after a few days.
Are the news summaries written by AI?
Often, yes. When a story is marked as AI-analysed, the summary, sentiment and impact were produced by an AI model from the headline and excerpt. They can be wrong or miss context, so always read the original article.
Is whaleticker free?
Yes. There are no accounts and nothing to connect.
